“That you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and assist her in whatever business she has need of you; for indeed she has been a helper of many and of myself also’’ Romans 16:2

Members of the Deaconess & Minister’s wives ministry work collaboratively with the deacons and other church ministries to render Christian service through fellowship, friendship and faith in the word of God. The deaconess ministry eagerly embraces their charge to “serve” and to operate as “servant leaders” as a privilege in serving God rather than a position of prominence.

Ministry members actively engage in serving our congregation and community with compassion, care and charity. Specific duties and responsibilities of deaconesses and minister’s wives consist of assisting the deacons with setting up the communion trays, preparing candidates for baptism, and visitations. They work together to extend special care to our sick and shut-in members, and new members through benevolent activities that include homebound visits and phone calls, sending greeting cards and other acts of kindness extended to our congregation and others. In addition, the deaconess ministry seeks to mentor and serve as Christian role models for the younger ladies in our church in their spiritual, social and personal development.

Although deaconesses work collectively as a ministry, they are involved in other church activities that extend to those yet to become members of the body of Jesus Christ as well as edify and promote kingdom building within the body of Christ. Their service extends to the Outreach ministry, Women’s ministry, Music ministry, Church School, and other ministries that foster spiritual development and Christian camaraderie.
